It was 2017 and I had to just moved to Los Angeles from Minnesota by myself to pursue my childhood dream of being a model and Hollywood actress. I was working about 50 hours a week as an Instacart shopper to pay my bills while doing occasional unpaid modeling gigs to build my portfolio.

Due to the all the driving in LA traffic I was doing during my Instacart shifts, I was constantly exhausted and at the age of 26, I felt way too old to be a newbie model in LA. There’s just something about competing with high school girls for work and having to lie about your age that fucks with your head.

My self-esteem, which was never that high to begin with, became really low. I felt trapped in the rat race and I desperately needed a way out.

Then one fine day in December, I got a DM from a random girl on Instagram telling me about an online business opportunity called affiliate marketing.

I had tried network marketing in the past and didn’t have the best experience with it, but I’d never heard of affiliate marketing until then.

This girl explained that affiliate marketing involves selling other people’s digital products online and earning a commission whenever someone buys one. In this case…
